The exact number of fake accounts on Facebook is roughly to determine the actual population size, which can be the number of Egypt’s population & even larger than most of the world’s countries, the company disclosed report this week.

According to a company which name is 10-Q filing stated, “A total of 8.7% or more than 83 million"users" are duplicates or fakes on its platform are bogus. Out of 8.75% fake accounts, 4.8 %( about 46 million which anyone who has a "work" & a "personal" Facebook account) are duplicate accounts, 2.4 %( 23 million are profiles assigned to pets or businesses purpose) are user-misclassified accounts and 1.5%( about 14 million are pages set up for spamming or other unpleasant uses) are spam.

This figure is as bit higher than the company’s previous estimates done by Facebook. In a March filing this year, Facebook claimed about (5- 6%) of its accounts or 40.3 million to 50.7 million were fake. There were huge gap in estimation of real fake users number. The company also says it bans at least 20,000 accounts daily & estimates about 600,000accounts deleted per day.

After all, taking the latest figures into 83 million fake account, Facebook’s latest claim of 955 million active users would be downgraded to 872 million.
