The 25 year old Jamaican sprinter completed semifinal 9.87 seconds of time, running in the second of three semifinal heats.
Bolt finished in first place in his Second heat, even after starting slow but recovered after end of time. Ryan Bailey of the United States finished second to Bolt in the Second heat with a time of 9.96seconds.
Justin Gatlin of the United States reached first in his first heat with a time of 9.82 seconds. Another countryman of Bolt, Yohan Blake, finished his third heat, in 9.85seconds with Tyson Gay coming in 9.90 seconds.
Blake previously defeated Bolt in the 100 and 200 meters at the Jamaican Olympic Trials.
The two fastest runners from each of the three semifinal heats moves to the final along with the next two fastest losers, as per as the competition format.

Bolt reached the semifinal by running a10.09 second of time in the qualifying heat, after overcoming a slow start out of the blocks.
The 100 meters final is set for next Sunday night. Bolt will try to repeat as the gold medalist as well. He currently owns both the world record & Olympic record of performing 100 meter event with less time of its history.
