First lesson of Search Engine optimization is using the Header Tag (h1, h2, h3) appropriately. There is a simple rule to use keywords on the headline. Such as h1 tag will contain most important keyword, and then h2, h3… will contain less important/weak keywords. It’s a matter of sorrows that many spammers using H1 as a common tag which is reducing the value of it.
Many experts say that search engine does not put any value for those header tags. Specially few days ago Matt Cutts posted a video on the using of H1 tag. MattCutts works in google and he is an expert on search engine optimization, spamming and search quality.
On that video he discourages to use h1 on the post. He says if anyone really wants to use h1 than s/he should keep some general content in between two h1. Otherwise frequently using of h1 will be considered as a spamming.
