The First Ever Instagram Photo in web | Social Media News

From exactly the two years ago today, the Instagram photo tested which upload to an app called “Codename”. After three months later, Instagram launched to the public in October 2010.

Before the bought by Facebook for $1 billion, before the 585 likes per second, before the 28 million registered users, there was this Instagram photo of a foot and a dog. 

The shot was posted in a blog post on Monday by Instagram HQ, celebrating their two years to the day of the first photo uploaded to the photo-sharing network’s predecessor, Codename. After a couple of years, and feet and dogs have become Instagram mainstays along with brunch cats & bridges. 

But this Monday wasn’t the photo’s first appearance on the web. In the year of Nov. 2011 post to Quora asks about the granddaddy of all Instagram shots.

Jessica Zollman evangelist responses & links to the shot within Instagram community & also says it was snapped by Instagram’s co-founder and CEO, Kevin Systrom.

One of the Instagram community managers, Josh Riedel tells us that the foot belongs to Systrom’s girlfriend. Its identity and owner are unknown still now, but it was found at this Mexican taco stand.
